I was looking for concerts , searching from myspace to myspace for something good when I found them. They’re a folk-rock duo named Ara and David. I like the melody but it’s the lyrics that get me meticulously written in english. They were playing at the end of the week at l’international so I went , and I saw them : Before the show they were chilling in a corner. David was very tall and was cradling his guitar, Ara was small in a tutu. as soon as the concert started their intrigue spiked and i stayed hooked for the rest of the set. We the observers were transported to a universe of lyrical greatness, in impeccable english on top of all-enveloping melodies. Their voices collide like rice and beans. Together they are complete. They broke out in their own version of MJ’s « They don’t care about us » at the end and all I was left thinking was how bad I needed to see them again. Ara looks fragile but her eyes are intense; she’s got an attitude and a hardcore voice. David writes the lyrics, those lyrics that get you.
Their first album is supposed to come out this summer, but try to check them out live while we wait.
